------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Mexico Olympics were the first Olympics in Latin America. They are remembered as the Olympics that almost did not come off because of the rioting by students of the University of Mexico. They are remembered because of the raised clenched fists in black gloves by two American sprinters. They are remembered by the victory fo Czechoslovakia's Vera Caslavska, whose country had just been invaded by the Red Army. The politics as well as the gymnastics are fully explained in this section of the 1968 Olympics.
