The gymnastics of Nadia Comaneci did not become known until the 1976 Montreal Olympics, which will be one of the principal stories of Volume II. In the introduction to Volume I, entitled "Historical Perspective", there is, however, an overview of the development of women's gymnastics. In it, the contributions of famous gymnasts like Olga Korbut , Nelli Kim and Nadia Comaneci are described, including Nadia's dismount from the uneven bars. The diagram illustrating this dismount -Figure 4- is typical of the 84 diagrams taken from the official Code of Points, which help the reader understand the elements which make up the fascinating world of women's gymnastics.
